Start tackling burnout in 5 minute increments

We often expect big success and we are disappointed that they don’t happen as often as we might like.  What if we pay attention to small successes and celebrate them? Will we produce more small successes? Remember that children are easily pleased with small things. Why can’t adults celebrate the small things too?

Thinking about this, let’s start with small, but meaningful changes. In this case, look at your calendar and start with 5 minutes.

Where can you find these small successes every day? You don’t wait for them to come. You can create them every day. Set a plan early in the day to create these small successes. Our top tips.

  1. start small

  2. put yourself back on your calendar

  3. set aside 5 minutes at the beginning and end of each day

  4. celebrate your success

Thinking about this time block your calendar today. Use the five minutes at the beginning of the day to determine what is the most important thing that needs to be accomplished and get that done first. At the end of the day check in and celebrate your progress and prep for the next days success.

Where can you find these small successes every day? You don’t wait for them to come. You can create them. The success could be I finished half of my to do list, I sat with a cup of coffee this morning and listened to the birds, I took a 5-minute walk at lunch.

No matter how small the accomplishment is, they are your tiny successes. Acknowledge them as a way of saying that you have done a good job and be grateful, feel the accomplishment. When you focus on small successes, you are more motivated to create more.successes.
